  • Neurodivergence and Neurodiversity Movement

Understanding the Basics of Neurodivergence and the Neurodiversity Movement

This workshop gives a general overview of neurodivergence including commonly recognized neurodivergent identities, diagnoses, and traits. The presentation includes some of the history of the neurodiversity movement to put the information in context, and there will be some general guidance for supporting neurodivergent individuals.

  • Autism Spectrum

    What is the Autism Spectrum?

This workshop explains the autism spectrum from a neurodivergent-affirming perspective. Autistic individuals continue to encounter a limited or incorrect understanding of autism from people around them - friends, family, coworkers, and professionals. Some topics in this presentation include this history of autism, overview of autistic traits, and language that most aligns with the preferences of the autistic community.

  • Sensory Differences

    Neurodivergence and Sensory Differences

Sensory differences are commonly recognized as neurodivergent traits but the full extent and impact of these differences often underestimated. This presentation explains that there are at least 8 sensory systems, and it will explain how sensory challenges impact a person’s ability to self-regulate. The 8 senses will be discussed including ways that each sensory experience can be dysregulating but can also be used for regulation purposes.

Let’s work together.
